Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation began its existence in an impossible position. Fellow NBC sitcom mockumentary The Office was one of the most popular shows on TV, its unique style novel to American TV watchers. Then Parks and Rec came along like a younger sibling eager to prove they can do talking heads and awkward humor, too. It would have been easy for the show to become an afterthought cash grab, but no. The quirky municipal employees of Pawnee warmed our hearts while tickling our funny bones with the irresistibility of Lil' Sebastian. Parks and Rec's endearing cast is so iconic, we even get sad reading about folks who didn't get to pretend to live in Indiana. Throw in a joyous and goofy writer's room, and that's a show we want to both rewatch and read about.
