Community
Most community college programs last two years, so Community ambitiously hinting at its need for “six seasons and a movie” was always going to take some conniving. Luckily for fans of smart comedy writing and set-destroying television, Jeff Winger's weird little study group actually did churn out enough episodes for syndication (or at least an everlasting presence on Hulu). And for a show so focused on damaged people (onscreen and off, looking at you, Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase) trying to stay afloat in life, Community has a lot of heart. Obviously, Troy and Abed (in the moooorrrrning) are a prime example of wholesome TV friendship, but a real strength of Community was the steps it took to humanize every character, no matter how deep their pathologies.
