Tell Us Now: What About Your Job Surprises People?
Jobs are an unpredictable beast. Strange aspects are always lurking for around the corner. It's kinda like behind the scenes movie facts, but for working-class people. For example, one of our writers once start a job as a bartender on a tour boat and was immediately greeted with rubber gloves, a spray bottle, paper towels, and the instructions to clean the toilets (or “head," as toilets are bizarrely called when you're on a boat). Working anywhere is bound to give you strange insights into a hidden world, and that is endlessly fascinating to us. We asked Cracked readers on Facebook, "What aspect of your job surprises people from outside your field?" And you told us.
Responses came from wide range of fascinating professions, from guitar teachers to private investigators. We were delighted to hear from so many librarians. We hope these responses are insightful into other occupations for you as they were for us!
