20 Completely Irrational Reactions By Rational Characters

When it comes to filmmaking, one of the top priorities is telling a powerful, cohesive story. Your characters not only have to make sense as characters, their actions have to make sure to the audience. Just kidding! Storytelling that makes sense will always take a backseat to hastily cobbled-together crap that furthers the plot.

Instead of writing scene where the audience contemplatively scratches their chins and thinks “hmmmm, there is conflict here, but both sides have clearly-defined goals, and I can see where they're coming from. Yep, all makes sense," these writers writers kicked the doors down and yelled “we're going zero to stupid as fast as possible, bitches!” If someone of these were Choose Your Own Adventure stories, “turn to page 147” would have a single paragraph that said “what the hell are you thinking? Seriously?!”
