If there is one thing the multiple aliens, androids, robots and force ghosts of the Star Wars universe understand it's safety. You won't catch any bounty hunter getting a concussion, and even the most powerful and feared sith don't leave home without their custom made headgear. Perhaps this society in a galaxy far, far away learned their lesson from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy injuries in Death Ball or whatever they played a long time ago, or they just have a flare for fashion and helmets are their version of handbags and if you're caught with last season's style you get shunned by the Gorlacks or whatever.
