Frederick Patterson

Frederick Patterson CRACKED.COM In 1915, Frederick Patterson founded the first (and only) African American owned and operated car manufacturing company. Originally established in 1895 by Frederick's father, C.R. Patterson & Sons of Greenfield, Ohio, metamorphosized from carriage making to manufacturing the Patterson-Greenfield automobile. They made up to 150 vehicles from 1915 until 1918 when they transitioned to auto repair.
