In the past year, there have been a number of high-profile celebrity Scam Victims. In some cases, the celebrities themselves were scammed; in others, their fans were targeted by unscrupulous individuals. But regardless of who was victimized, the result was the same: the celebrity's reputation was damaged, and their fans were left feeling betrayed. The most famous recent example of a celebrity Scam Victim is a pop star, Justin Bieber. Bieber was the target of an online death hoax in early 2013, and later that year, he fell victim to a phone-hacking scandal. But he's not the only one; other celebrities who have been Scam Victims include Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and even President Barack Obama. With fame comes scrutiny, and unfortunately for these celebrities, that also means that they are prime targets for scammers.
