As a kid, a large part of how we envision adulthood is shaped through media – the movies, the TV shows, and the weird songs. Well, the songs are usually about counting or tying our shoes, so maybe mostly the movies and TV shows. Regardless, the ensuing results are hilarious. So many misconceptions of what it means to be an adult. Like a real one. The kind with a job and stuff. We asked Cracked readers on Facebook, “Growing up, what were misconceptions you had about adulthood due to movies and TV?” Some of you were very disillusioned children. A lot of you looked forward to growing up – until you went and did it. It really does seem that all kids want to be adults and all adults want to be kids. And as for everyone who did not answer, we can only assume that you really didn’t have any misconceptions as a kid. What fun that must’ve been.
