While at the movies recently, we experienced a new-age version of that one scene in Cape Fear. These facts in front of us were obnoxiously laughing while relentlessly puffing on a vape pen. Our experience was way better than Nick Nolte’s character’s though. The peach scent was way less offensive than De Niro’s character’s cigar smoke, and not only were the facts not out to destroy our family, but they taught us a ton of cool movie trivia too! 

We don’t know about you, but we’d let movie facts interrupt our movie any day.

The Exorcist

Crazy Rich Asians

CRACKED.COM CRAZY RICH ASIANS The Mahjong scene is a nod to The Joy Luck Club. The encounter doesn't happen in the book, but the director wanted to pay homage to another Hollywood film that featured an all-Asian cast.

Bulworth

BULWORTH Warren Beatty needed Cornel West's opinion before releasing the movie. Beatty was concerned about how the movie would be received by black audiences, and wanted its intended message heard, so he arranged a private screening for the professor and civil rights activist. The Good Dinosaur

THE GOOD DINOSAUR Arlo's movements were based on elephants. Since you can't exactly look at the way a living dinosaur walks, the animators mimicked the movements of elephants for the main dino character. CRACKED.COM

Dune

DUNE Hans Zimmer turned down Tenet for this. Zimmer is a long-time collaborator of Christopher Nolan, but he is also a huge Dune fan. So he chose to work on Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel rather than Nolan's movie. CRACKED.COM

Hoosiers

CRACKED.COM HOOSIERS Jack Nicholson couldn't play the coach for legal reasons. Nicholson really wanted the part, but he was busy for several months playing the real-life role of a witness in a lawsuit during production.

NOMADLAND The majority of the cast were real people. The characters in the movie are actual nomads playing fictionalized versions of themselves. If you look at the credits, you'll see that most of their characters were named after themselves. CRACKED.COM

Promising Young Woman

CRACKED.COM PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN The director purposely cast nice guy actors. Emerald Fennell cast Adam Brody, Max Greenfield, and Chris Lowell due to their past screen appearances as nice characters to help sell the reveal when their movie characters were... Well, not nice.

Mortal Kombat

CRACKED.COM MORTAL KOMBAT (2021) Sub-Zero's costume weighed 33 lbs. As the movie relied on realistic and practical effects/costuming, the entire outfit that Joe Taslim wore weighed in at 33 pounds, making his quick stunt moves even more impressive.

Godzilla

CRACKED.COM GODZILLA Godzilla was allegedly named after some big dude. According to director Ishiro Honda, Gojira (westernized as Godzilla) was a nickname for a large man that worked at Toho's publicity department. Gojira came about when two people argued whether he was as big as a gorilla or as a whale (kujira).

Die Hard

DIE HARD Bruce Willis did the movie due to a pregnancy. At first, Willis couldn't take the part of John McClane due to his commitment to Moonlighting. That changed when his Moonlighting co-star Cybill Shepherd announced she was pregnant, and the series paused production. CRACKED.COM

Osmosis Jones

OSMOSIS The movie inspired the National Buffalo Wing Festival. The festival didn't exist in real life when Bill Murray's character wanted to attend in the movie. Buffalo native Drew Cerza made it a reality in 2002. CRACKED.COM
