28 Deleted Scenes That Would Have Completely Changed Your Favorite Movies

Although it was a pretty weird and off-putting movie, The Butterfly Effect came to mind when we were rounding up these entries. We thought about how crazy it is that excluding one scene or sometimes only a single line of dialogue can alter a movie’s entire story. 

For better or for worse, here are some movies that, if their editing process went a little differently, could have been drastically different…

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2 GRACKED.COM Terminator 2 almost ended with an old Sarah Connor sitting on a park bench, explaining that Judgment Day didn't happen and now everything's peachy. Because what's a more satisfying ending to a movie than the main character going, and then everything was fine! Ok BYEEEEEEE!

Rambo

Rambo: First Blood CRACKED COM The name John Rambo may bring to mind assault rifles and body oil, but there's a lot more going on under the surface. Especially in First Blood's original ending, where our pal Rambo commits suicide with help from his commanding officer. Sadly, it was cut, costing us a series of movies starring... Ghost Rambo!

The Shining

Stanley Kubrick deleted a final scene from THE SHINING after the film showed in theaters one week Stuart Ullman visits Danny and Wendy in the hospital. Не informs Wendy that the police found nothing supernatural in their search of the Overlook Hotel THEN GIVES DANNY JACK'S YELLOW TENNIS BALL. Hannibal

In the original ending of Hannibal (2001) Clarice Starling lets Lecter kiss her as a distraction to handcuff his wrist to hers. Lecter uses a knife to cut his hand instead of Starling's. Lecter sacrificed himself in this ending for his love for her. In the deleted alternate ending, the kiss is never interrupted by the handcuffing. She lets Lecter escape, implying that Starling is sacrificing herself for Lecter, completely changing the meaning of the ending. CRACKED.COM

Zootopia

Zootopia 2016 CRACKED.COM This deleted scene reveals that every animal in Zootopia has a Taming Party, where they're given a shock collar that zaps themany time they give in to animalistic impulse.

Bambi

BAMBI BAMBI'S MOM CRACKED.COM Hard to believe that Bambi could've been a whole lot sadder, but original, bloody storyboards showed the actual moment that Bambi's mom was shot dead. Disney ultimately deemed it not family friendly and too violent to include, and kept it G.

Kill Bill 2

KILL BILL 2 CRACKED.COM One would assume the leader of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad is a bad ass, though the Kill Bill flicks simply imply it. A deleted Kill Bill 2 scene confirms Bill's prowess as he takes out Michael Jai White with a freaking sword.

It

IT 2017 CRACKED.COM The script originally called for Pennywise to straight-up eat a baby. It was an off-screen, but still brutally visceral death that was only ever partially-filmed.

Jaws

JAWS ALEX KINTNER CRACKED GOM When test audience members hyperventilated for 20 minutes after attack scenes, Spielberg drastically cut them down. Only a few stills of the Alex Kintner scene remain, taking the film from an R down to PG, since the MPAA's PG-13 rating didn't exist yet.

Venom

A Venom deleted scene shows how the movie was originally supposed to unfold. FilmA In the scene, Eddie takes a Lyft to the hospital (and argues with Venom) -- apparently, that's how he was supposed to get to the hospital the second time. CRACKED.COM

Divergent

DIVERGENT EDWARD STABBED CRACKED.COM Even though Edward is stabbed in the eye in the book, the film's version of the scene was deemed too gruesome, and cut to preserve the movie's PG-13 rating.

Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok cut a scene that showed Valkyrie was clearly bisexual. The scene would've showed a woman walking out of Valkyrie's bedroom, and Taika Waititi was onboard, but they had to cut it. CRACKED.COM

Lion King

A deleted Lion King scene makes Scar super creepy (in addition to everything else). It shows him trying to corner Nala after he gets her alone, telling her You know, you really have no choice. I always get what I want. CRACKED.COM

The Wolverine

THE WOLVERINE CRACKED.COM Fans would have lost their collective minds if James Mangold had ended the film with a scene in which Logan is presented with a mysterious briefcase. It contained the iconic yellow Wolverine suit from his early X-Men days.

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast 2017 CRACKED.COM LeFou retreats to the bathroom, where he meets Monsieur Toilette, a sentient toilet that has been eating the Beast's royal dook. Human Toilette later tells LeFou that he needs to go brush his teeth, as if that will help.

Star Wars

DARK DELETED SCENES RETURN OF THE JEDI SOMEHOW, OBI-WAN RETURNED. The movie would've had Obi-Wan return in the flesh... rendering almost every part of the original trilogy pointless. CRACKED.COM

The Amazing Spider-Man

DARK DELETED SCENES THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN THE LIZARD GOT SEXUAL ASSAULT-Y. In this out-of-character deleted scene, the Lizard takes a moment to press two girls against a wall before licking them on the face. Because why not. CRACKED.COM

Bruce Almighty

DARK DELETED SCENES BRUCE ALMIGHTY GOD TORTURES A MAN. A deleted scene has Jim Carrey's Bruce make Steve Carell's rival journalist burst into flame. Talk about a vengeful God! CRACKED.COM

Clerks

Clerks CRACKED CON A deleted scene almost had the movie Clerks ending with Dante being murdered during a robbery attempt, credits fading in over his lifeless body crumpled next to the sour straws under the counter. In the end, they went with an ending that didn't show the soul draining from a man's eyes. Boooooring!

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Ferris Bueller's Day Off CRACKED.COM Ever wonder how Ferris financed his famous day off? The original script answers that question: Ferris steals and cashes savings bonds his dad has stashed away. If there's one thing that's gonna make your dad more mad than stealing from him, it's stealing AND costing him that sweet compound interest.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter - CRACKED.COM In a deleted scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, we see Dudley Dursley apologizing to Harry for how he treated him. Apparently they thought a Dudley Dursley redemption arc was essential, even when he was more likely on track to be moderating some weird anti-wizard subreddit.

Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park CRACKED CON John Hammond's cloned dinos were even more messed up than we thought. Remember that sick triceratops? A deleted scene shows it's subject to a grim fate shared by every dino, due to how they were made. Turns out Hammond's mosquito-frog-dino genetic minestrone leads to short, painful lives.

Pretty Woman

Pretty Woman CRACKED.COM Pretty Woman's original script wasn't all shopping montages and bubble baths. In the first screenplay, Edward was also trying to get Vivian to quit using crack cocaine. Because as we all know, rich people would NEVER abuse cocaine.

Superman II

At the end of Superman II, the Kryptonians appear to fall to their deaths. A deleted scene showed them being arrested afterward. This means Superman isn't a murderer after all! GRACKED COM

Thor

IN THIS DELETED SCENE OF THOR IT'S SHOWN THAT LOKI WAS IN FACT MADE THE LEGITIMATE HEIR OF ODIN'S THRONE PERHAPS SOME GUYS ARE TOO PROUD TO EXPLAIN THEMSELVES WHEN THEY'RE RIGHT CRACKED.COM

The Lion King

In the original and deleted ending for The Lion King (only available as a storyboard sequence) Scar is the one who throws Simba off the cliff, which almost kills him. However, in his victory, Scar is consumed by the fire that surrounds Pride Rock. Producers altered this ending because they thought it was too horrific for a Disney Film and letting Scar be devoured by the hyenas was more interesting than having him burn to death. CRACKED.COM

The Lord of the Rings

IN THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE FINAL BATTLE IN LORD THE RETURN THE OF RINGS THE OF THE KING SAURON HIMSELF APPEARS AS AN ANGELIC BEING THEN TRANSFORMS AND BATTLES ARAGON: GOOD VS. EVIL! LIGHT VS. C-3PO

1 C-3PO is a cunning warrior. In this deleted scene from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, during the escape from Hoth Base C-3PO takes a second to rip a sign off a door. When the Imperial Stormtroopers come through and open the door searching for Rebels, they find the room is filled with deadly wampas. The same snow creature that almost killed Luke Skywalker earlier in the movie. GRAGKED.COM
