History isn’t often a pretty thing to look back on. Shame on us humans for basically beating the shit out of each other in increasingly industrialized ways since anyone started writing anything down. As such, there tend to be a lot more records of unfortunate events than ones applauding victories of friendship and cooperation.

Which is not to say nothing nice has ever happened in the past. In fact, Redditors dug up a refreshingly wholesome collection of happenings from history that, for the most part, don’t end in beheadings. 

See, humans can get along after all — at least for very brief periods, as outlined below.
