When discussing any art form, we always hear about “the line.” People seem to like to argue about whether an artist or filmmaker has walked said line, or if they’ve completely crossed it. 

These scenes brought their movie or TV show so far over the line that they were banished completely for it. Were they taught a lesson by some nameless, faceless line guardians? Not sure. All we know is that someone, somewhere thought they had to go. 

Dr. Strangelove

Dr. Strangelove GRACKED.COM If Dr. Strangelove had followed the original script, we would have been introduced to an alien named Nardac Blefescu, who made the movie from historical records found on a bombed-out earth. Nardac never made the final script, however, nuking their chances at the first Oscar win for an extraterrestrial.

The King’s Speech

THE KING'S SPEECH 3 F-WORDS CRACKED COM King George VI must overcome his stutter because the MPAA feels that teens become psychologically damaged if they hear too many F-words. In one funny scene, he stutters the word 5 times in the R rated version, but only 2 times in the PG-13 version.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH FULL FRONTAL CRACKED COM Fast Times became known for showing the real, uncomfortable aspects of high school life. An edgier, uncut version that included Mike Damone's full-frontal nudity may have been a bit too real since it would have landed an X-rating, and had to be dropped.

Dressed to Kill

DRESSED TO KILL ELEVATOR CRACKED.COM Brian De Palma's masterful thriller was originally given an X rating for nudity and violence. Since he was contracted to deliver an R-rated movie, he had to trim it down, but he publicly aired his frustrations with Anonymous bureaucrats for obscuring his art.

Sausage Party

SAUSAGE PARTY PITA PUBES CRACKED.COM Before being certified R by the MPAA, the film was pushing NC-17 thanks to an orgy scene. Writer/Producer Seth Rogen told Howard Stern that they took issue with pubic hair, so to drop the rating, We digitally shaved the pita bread's ballsack.

Hancock

HANCOCK SEX SCENE & F-WORD CRACKED.COM Officially, a PG-13 movie can only include one f-bomb. The MPAA has been known to allow 3-4 if they're not describing sex, but the PG-13 version of Hancock had a sex scene and a second F-word removed.

American Psycho

AMERICAN PSYCHO THREESOME CRACKED COM Weirdly, axing Jared Leto and dropping a chainsaw on a woman were totally okay with the ratings board. It was Patrick looking at himself during sex that irked them, so to drop from NC-17 to an R, 18 seconds was cut out of that sequence.

Scream

SCREAM STEVE'S GUTTING CRACKED.COM Wes Craven's Scream is already pretty gruesome, but to avoid an NC-17 rating, he was made to change some of the more graphic scenes. In the opening scene, when Casey's boyfriend is murdered, an extended cut shows his internal organs slowly spilling out.

Bambi

BAMBI BAMBI'S MOM CRACKED.COM Hard to believe that Bambi could've been a whole lot sadder, but original, bloody storyboards showed the actual moment that Bambi's mom was shot dead. Disney ultimately deemed it not family friendly and too violent to include, and kept it G.

Jaws

JAWS ALEX KINTNER CRACKED GOM When test audience members hyperventilated for 20 minutes after attack scenes, Spielberg drastically cut them down. Only a few stills of the Alex Kintner scene remain, taking the film from an R down to PG, since the MPAA's PG-13 rating didn't exist yet.

Divergent

DIVERGENT EDWARD STABBED CRACKED.COM Even though Edward is stabbed in the eye in the book, the film's version of the scene was deemed too gruesome, and cut to preserve the movie's PG-13 rating.

Friends 2001 CRACKED.COM Chandler and Monica went on their honeymoon, coincidentally, a month after 9/11. The episode originally had the couple being detained after Chandler jokes about a bomb at the airport.

Fantasia

Fantasia 1940 CRACKED.COM Disney thankfuly deleted scenes with two mind-bogglingly racist caricatures, Otika and Sunflower, who exist only to serve the white centaurs.

Bird Box

Bird Box 2018 SPECIAL REPORT - - CRACKED.COM In an on-screen news report, they used footage from an actual Canadian trainwreck that killed 47 people in 2013.

Zootopia

Zootopia 2016 CRACKED.COM This deleted scene reveals that every animal in Zootopia has a Taming Party, where they're given a shock collar that zaps themany time they give in to animalistic impulse.

IT 2017 CRACKED.COM The script originally called for Pennywise to straight-up eat a baby. It was an off-screen, but still brutally visceral death that was only ever partially-filmed.

JAWS I CRACKED.COM His obsessive drive to kill the shark without any outside help suggests that Quint is a pretty strange guy. A deleted scene in which he creeps out a young clarinet player confirms it. Delightfully weird.

Kill Bill 2

KILL BILL 2 CRACKED.COM One would assume the leader of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad is a bad ass, though the Kill Bill flicks simply imply it. A deleted Kill Bill 2 scene confirms Bill's prowess as he takes out Michael Jai White with a freaking sword.

Back to the Future

Back to the Future CRACKED.COM A thankfully deleted scene features a homophobic spin on the Grandfather Paradox. Says Marty, This is the kinda thing that could screw me up permanently... what if I go back to the future and I end up being... gay? It was cut, we assume because they realized that this isn't something anybody wants on film.

The Dark Knight Rises

A deleted scene shows that it's meant to be a statement on the anti-crime Dent Act, which took away the rights of the accused to things like appeals. There's only room for one anti-hero in this franchise, Jonny boy!

Clerks CRACKED.COM A deleted scene almost had the movie Clerks ending with Dante being murdered during a robbery attempt, credits fading in over his lifeless body crumpled next to the sour straws under the counter. In the end, they went with an ending that didn't show the soul draining from a man's eyes. Boooooring!

If there's one thing that's gonna make your dad more mad than stealing from him, it's stealing AND costing him that sweet compound interest.

In Bruges

In Bruges CRACKED.COM A deleted flashback from In Bruges gave us a glimpse of a young Harry (Ralph Fiennes). What was he up to? Smashing mailboxes? Jazz cigarettes? More like decapitating a politician. The scene was cut, probably because people could tell Harry was a bad dude without the on-screen arterial spray.

A deleted scene shows it's subject to a grim fate shared by every dino, due to how they were made. Turns out Hammond's mosquito-frog-dino genetic minestrone leads to short, painful lives.

Grief is a natural part of life, but I don't need to see Yosemite Sam going through it.
