35 Conspiracy Theories That Even Skeptics Believe

Generally speaking, conspiracy theories can be fun. I’m not talking about the ones that claim vaccines are implanting microchips in our bodies or that 5G is part of some sinister radiation plot. I’m talking about those that make you stop and think about a mundane part of life that, quite possibly, could be less mundane than it seems.

One Redditor, for instance, believes that Head & Shoulders is part of a flaky-scalped agenda. According to them, anti-dandruff shampoos “temporarily get rid of dandruff, but somehow dry your scalp out even more over time,” positing that it then “worsens your dandruff when you stop using it.”

Okay, let’s sit with that for a minute. Does it seem so crazy that a company would lie in order to sell more of their products? Not really. So, while we can’t verify the truth, I can see how he came to that conclusion.

Other Redditors have shared their conspiracy theories that don’t seem very far-fetched, including one guy who’s ready to bust Throwback Thursday wide open.

Darmok47 3y ago The one about mattress stores being money laundering fronts, even though they're not really cash businesses. It is strange that you'll see two or three giant mattress stores all near each other, yet how often does the average person buy a mattress? Once a decade? I guess the more conventional explanation is that the markup on mattresses is so insanely high that you only need to sell a few per week to make money. I still think there's something fishy going on in those stores though.... + 8.7K ...

8y ago I think that the Paul Mccartney conspiracy was invented by the Beatles just to mess with people. The idea is that Mccartney died in a car accident in 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike. Theres a ton of hidden signs hinting to it all throughout their music. For example, on the Abbey Road album. He's the only one not wearing shoes. On Let It Be, he's the only one with a red background. The story of him dying and being replaced by a perfect look- alike is pretty out there, so it was most likely a
