Look, we’re not knocking these tropes. They had a great run and gave us a ton of high-quality entertainment. Lately, though, they’re kind of like a prominent sports figure who maybe should’ve retired a couple years ago. Yes, we still get to see them play, but they’re just a shadow of their former selves. Maybe it’s time for these tropes to give their roster spot to a young up-and-comer.
