Assigning a security guard to every random dude on set seems a tad expensive, so we can see why they just left that shot in the film and moved on with their day.

The lightsaber sound is the result of a gadget being broken. Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt was carrying a tape recorder with a broken mic cable. As he walked past his TV, the broken cable picked up the TV's hum. That produced a weird but distinctive buzz, and KWINE 100 Burtt decided it was just what he needed I for the lightsaber sound. Jason Voorhees got his look thanks to a film crew member's fandom. While filming Friday the 13th Part III, the crew needed to do a lighting test, which would have meant hours in the makeup chair. To save time, they threw a hockey goalie mask on the actor instead. Why a goalie mask? Well, a crew member was a huge hockey fan, and had a mask lying around. The Scream mask was a random find in an old lady's house. The Scream designers' initial ideas for the killer's mask looked like something that belonged on an edgy '90s T-shirt. At the same time, the producers were scouting houses to shoot in, and they found a weird ghost mask in one of them (apparently, the owner's deceased husband collected masks). The geyser of blood trope came from an on-set malfunction. In the epic final duel of Kurosawa's Sanjuro, an actor was fitted with a hose that was supposed to spurt movie blood. But that hose blew a coupling, so the spurting became more of a forceful blast. Doctor Who head costume designer Jim Acheson wanted the Fourth Doctor to have a scarf, so he gave a knitter lots of wool in many colors and asked her to make one. Apparently, she thought she was supposed to use it all, and knitted a multicolored, freakishly huge scarf. Behind-The-Scenes Accidents 1960 Spartacus During a fight scene left in the movie, Kirk Douglas forces the head of a slave trainer played by Charles McGraw into a soup cauldron.
