12 Badass Special Edition DVDs and VHSs That Make Us Miss Physical Media

Nostalgia’s great, right? It’s safe. Unlike that pesky unknown future, we know what we’re getting with nostalgia. It’s that warm hug of remembrance like, “Man, remember when my little brother scratched my Memphis Bleek CD and I thought that Bleek repeating the same word 5 times was just how the song went?!” Good times. A worn VHS tape had a visual record scratch of sorts. That TV static would flash for a second before it got back on track, but sadly, scratched DVDs were just trash. There’s 20 bones down the drain. Back to the mall for another copy.
Not to sound all “back in our day,” but back in our day, holding a physical copy of a movie or a season of a TV show was pretty cool. Especially if that copy was a fat, hearty collector’s item you could cherish forever. Well, until streaming made them obsolete. But every once in a while, we like to dust off these 12 badass special edition DVDs and VHSs because they make us miss physical media.
