Tracy Morgan Is Fine After Seemingly Serious Health Scare at Last Night’s Knicks Game

Enjoy a deep sigh of relief, Tracy Morgan fans — the comedian is doing okay after a scary evening at Madison Square Garden. Morgan delayed an NBA game between his beloved New York Knicks and the Miami Heat last night when he vomited on the court. He left MSG in a wheelchair with fans offering well wishes for a quick recovery. Morgan took to Instagram this morning to let everyone know he’s fine.
“Thank you for all your concern!” he wrote alongside a picture in a hospital bed giving fans a thumbs up. “I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning. Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!”
Morgan is no stranger to medical scares, notes ESPN. The comedian had a kidney transplant in 2010 and a traumatic brain injury from a 2014 accident with a Walmart truck that put him in a coma.
Don't Miss
But assuming the docs are right with their food-poisoning diagnosis, Morgan’s health scare should have no impact on the untitled sitcom pilot he’s working on with Tina Fey. There’s been a lot of buzz about the new comedy in the past week or two, with Morgan set to play a disgraced former football player intent on rehabilitating his image. Morgan’s supporting cast — Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander and Bobby Moynihan — is an intriguing mix of weird, and I mean that in a good way. Deadline reports that the pilot is still on schedule to film later this month.
While no one would want to relive Morgan’s night at the NBA game, the comedian was considering one important statistic that came out of last night’s 21-point New York victory. “The Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court,” he observed in his Instagram post. “So maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs.”
