21 Good Guys Who Should Have Turned Bad

We like watching movie and TV heroes because they’re better than us in just about every conceivable way. The superheroes of Marvel and DC have abilities that are necessarily impossible for any human being. The protagonists of sitcoms always have the perfect witty response in situations where we would simply grunt and go home to cry. Jack Reacher is so much larger than any of you could ever be. Like, if two of your closest friends sat on your shoulders, you might have a chance against him. Maybe.
They’re also morally better than we’ll ever be. A movie or TV good guy can be put through more tests than a biblical figure and still come out on the side of virtue, even when a reasonable person would be completely justified in going all vigilante or at least keying some cars.
That’s why user NotPhantomforce asked r/AskReddit, “What fictional character had every right to become a villain but didn’t?”
