25 Remnants of the Early Internet That Are Still Clickin’

Researchers and scientists have managed to create 5G networks, teleportation and A.I. programs that will ultimately kill us all, but there’s still one feat they have yet to master: time travel.
Though there are a few positive aspects of our tech-heavy present, some of us yearn for simpler times when having a dollar in your pocket actually meant something, Blockbuster still existed nationwide and you could quench your thirst with a Strawberry Passion Fruitopia from the vending machine. Wasn’t that nice?
While we wait for the technology that allows us to blast backward through time like Phil of the Future, it turns out there’s a much more low-tech way to take a glimpse into the past — by visiting decades-old websites that have somehow not succumbed to time or link rot. Whether it’s Bob Dole’s campaign website or Cameron’s World, these websites are still kickin’, and serve as time capsules for the ‘90s and early aughts.
