‘Looney Tunes’ Instagram Implies Some Dark Allegations About Elmer Fudd
According to the social media team of Looney Tunes, Elmer Fudd is singing “Kill the Wabbit” in A-minor.
This past weekend, hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar slammed the door shut on his much-publicized beef with fellow rapper and accused groomer Drake by performing his smash-hit diss track “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl halftime show while staring into the camera with a rascally grin on his face. In proper Super Bowl halftime show tradition, Lamar’s smiling strut during “Not Like Us” immediately became the meme of the moment, and every corporate social media manager on Twitter and Instagram quickly got to work putting their spin on the iconic image that will live on in replies and roast threads for many years to come.

However, as some of these commercial posters seem to forget, the central diss of Lamar’s “Not Like Us” is his repeated claim that his enemy is a sexual predator who preys on underaged girls. So, when the Looney Tunes account posted this picture of Bugs Bunny strutting the stage at the Super Dome, the subtext was not vewwy, vewwy quiet…
Of course, Bugs didn’t explicitly name Elmer Fudd in the above meme, but given that Elmer is about as Drake-like a rival as Bugs has in the Looney Tunes universe, it’s pretty clear whom the wascally wabbit is targeting. The caption for the post reads, “Bugs respects the cheeky grin game,” but the real cheekiness of Bugs’ blatant call-out of his old enemy is what’s left unsaid. As everyone who went outside last summer and heard “Not Like Us” blasting from every car stereo in America knows well, the next line in the song is “I hear you like ‘em young,” and Lamar isn’t talking about wabbit hunting.
Looney Tunes fans quickly inferred that Bugs is saying that the bumbling hunter who has terrorized the furry and feathered folk of his universe for over eight decades is also a different kind of predator, with one viral tweet about the above meme asking, “Is this implying Elmer Fudd is a pedophile?"
