‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Fans Are Thirsting After ‘Black Macv Shemar Moore

Thousands of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans are under the impression that Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor Shemar Moore is a melanin-rich dead ringer for Rob McElhenney, but does the comparison really pass an ocular patdown?

Now, it’s important to start off with a superficial disclaimer: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star and creator McElhenney is, by every objective and objectifying measure, a handsome man, especially after he decided to stick with his “Ripped Mac” phase back in Season 13. This isn’t a knock on McElhenney’s jawline, his strong, pronounced brow or his oft-goatee’d facial hair, all of which may lead some to think that the sitcom superstar and soccer magnate bears a stunning, cross-racial resemblance to Moore. But, let’s be real here, Moore broke through with a contract role on The Young and the Restless, so are we really ready to say that Mac is soap opera hot???

Well, some Always Sunny fans certainly are, and they’re getting hot and bothered by a certain viral headshot of the S.W.A.T. star Moore that makes him look like he could play yet another long-lost McDonald cousin who out-badasses Mac on his own day:

Now, to be fair, theres an argument to be made that Moore looks a hell of a lot more like McElhenney than Country Mac actor Sean William Scott ever did, and theres certainly a stronger similarity in the facial construction between the two TV stars than the “family resemblance” between Mac and his apathetic parents. If McElhenney did want to add a cousin of color to Macs extended family and Moore wanted to subject himself to the humiliation ritual that is guest starring on Always Sunny, that casting could definitely work.

But, as many more reasonable fans pointed out of the “resemblance,” were being very complimentary toward McElhenney by comparing him to the impossibly chiseled Criminal Minds star who models as a side hustle. Really, these are just two men with strong jawlines who shave their beards into goatees and like to raise one of their thick eyebrows whenever theres a photo opportunity to look tough.

If McElhenney and Moore are doppelgangers, then the Cosby Show guy is Donovan McNabb.
