20 Hilarious Commercials Don Draper Wishes He Came Up With

As anyone who refuses to pay for ad-free streaming services can attest, commercials suck right now. Advertisements are all the same churned-out slop with cliched punchlines, cringey graphics and jingles so awful they seem like they were tapped to serve as the theme song to the Bad Place in The Good Place

But Redditors remember a time when our ad agency overlords got it right. Case in point: The now-legendary Slim Jim commercial that provided Amish folks with the comeback of the century to one of the most frequently asked questions about their culture.

“I gotta ask, what’s it like living without the internet?” asked a stranded driver hitching a ride with a generous Amish man.

“It’s alright,” he answered, Slim Jim in hand. “I just get photos of your mom through the mail.”

It’s a shame the Amish probably never saw that spot on TV. It could’ve changed their entire lives. But Slim Jim wasn’t the only company to bring the heat — whether it’s Walmart’s clown or Quilted Northern’s Little Miss Puffy Tail, these hilarious commercials will make you yearn for the time when ad breaks were something to look forward to.
