Von feuds with the social media stars over a broken chair
Theo Von Dunks on the Paul Brothers for Their Stupid Pranks and Fake Boxing Bouts

At yesterday’s re-inauguration of President Donald Trump, Jake and Logan Paul purportedly played a clichéd prank on Theo Von, sparking a feud that would quickly spill onto social media. If Washington could see us now, he’d surrender to King George.

Yesterday’s indoor festivities for the 47th President of the United States saw numerous social media magnates and social media celebrities flood into the Capitol to “salute” the incoming Commander-in-Chief and score millions of clicks for the content created at the solemn event. When Von, a popular stand-up comedian and podcaster who interviewed Trump during the campaign trail, arrived at the ceremony, he found himself seated in front of the Paul Brothers, a popular content creation duo that specializes in fake fighting, both in the WWE and in the boxing ring where 28-year-old Jake recently “defeated” 58-year-old Mike Tyson in front of a roaring crowd of other content creators who have never even heard the name Evander Holyfield.

During the proceedings, Von’s chair collapsed underneath him while Logan Paul was conveniently pointing his camera at the comedian. Following the viral incident, Von accused the Pauls of sabotaging his seat for the sake of a prank, a charge that both brothers have vehemently denied. Now, Von and the Pauls are fully engaged in a Twitter flame war that threatens to divide America's precious population of 24-year-old community college dropouts who are no longer allowed to borrow their dad’s truck.

For those who are lucky enough to have no knowledge of Jake Pauls “boxing” “career,” the YouTube star has spent the last five years arranging and participating in white-collar celebrity matches, usually against retired professional athletes who are willing to hit the deck for a few thousand dollars. Actual boxing fans and officials have long questioned the legitimacy of Pauls bouts, especially after Tyson came out of retirement to play patty-cake with the social media star for a few rounds on a shitty Netflix stream.

Of course, given the Pauls history of publicity stunts and fake fights, there’s a very real chance that the current Twitter feud with Von is a pre-meditated spat designed to capitalize on the attention both parties got from attending the events at the Capitol. According to the brothers, Von knew about the broken chair before he sat down, so its reasonable to believe that Vons current irate state is as staged as the average YouTube celebrity boxing match.

Whether or not the current tensions are legitimate, Von and the Pauls should probably take it easy this early into the second Trump administration. All three of them will have plenty of opportunities to exchange verbal blows when Trump puts them on the Supreme Court.
