For better or worse, we live in the golden age of the franchise. It’s no longer enough to simply make a movie or a book or a TV show — you need volumes of all of those plus video games, soundscapes and a line of collectible fast-food tie-in merchandise. If your characters don’t all have their own Funko Pops, what the hell are you even doing?

With all of your freakishly multitudinous fingers in so many pots, however, it’s inevitable to lose track of things. It’s hard enough to fight off the plot holes in a single script — it’s impossible to do so across 20.
