Stifler who?
Seann William Scott Says He Now Gets Recognized More From ‘Goon’ Than ‘American Pie’

Though once best known for his role as Steve Stifler in the American Pie franchise, Seann William Scott’s career is making like the name of his latest project: Tim Allen’s new sitcom Shifting Gears.

While promoting his role in the already panned ABC series, Scott got candid about his claims to fame, revealing that after decades of getting recognized as the wannabe porn director with a MILF for a mom, his days of Stifler stardom are numbered — contrary to what your Gen X older brother may think.

“I still get recognized for American Pie from time to time,” he explained in a recent interview with ReMIND magazine. “But I actually get more people come up (sic) to me about Goon, the hockey movie.”

For those of you not in the loop on low(ish) budget Canadian sports flicks, Goon, which hit theaters back in 2011, tells the story of a bouncer who lands a spot on a minor-league hockey team after winding up in a bar fight. Faring decently well on Rotten Tomatoes — an 81 percent on the Tomatometer is nothing to scoff at — audiences initially disagreed. The movie earned back just $7 million of its $12 million budget during its theatrical run, though it later skyrocketed to streaming fame — and sparked a sequel — after gaining popularity after hitting Netflix.

For our part at least, Scott will always be the bridge-jumping, beer-swilling, dude magnet Country Mac on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
