These Golden Globes Presenters Told By Far the Dirtiest Joke of the Night
Canadian comics Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara may not have a bunch of Golden Globes under their belts, but that doesn’t mean their trophy cases are bare. As Golden Globe presenters, the comic performers riffed on their past successes on Canadian awards shows, recognition that O’Hara lamented always gets her stopped at the border.
For example, Rogen explained that O’Hara won two Golden Antler Awards for her role as Mama Morissette in The Alanis Morissette Story.
O’Hara returned the compliment, applauding Rogen for his work (and Golden Antler win) as a young Ryan Gosling in The Ryan Gosling Unauthorized Biopic.
Don't Miss
O’Hara scored a Gilded Gretzky Award for her turn in An Otter’s Tale, “the story of a woman who rescued an otter cub and nursed it back to health with her own breast milk.” It wasn’t easy, said O’Hara — “I lost half a nipple.”
Risque, but the two were just getting started. Their award-winning success led to “very hard, R-rated comedies” like Pipeline Polly. Rogen noted that Canada doesn’t have America's puritanical roots, so films like Pipeline Polly and even adult movies are as lauded as non-pornographic films. “I did a lot of Canadian adult work,” Rogen bragged. “Log Riders, Sticky Syrup, and of course, the Moose Knuckles trilogy.”
“Moose Knuckles 2 was a massive hit,” gushed O’Hara.
Rogen proudly recalled that the original Moose Knuckles won Canada’s most illustrious adult film award.
“Wait, you won the Beaver?” asked O’Hara.
“We won the Beaver,” Rogen confirmed. “Actually, we swept the Beavers that year. Multi-Beaver winning film. My mother especially loves Knuckles Deep.”
It's like they always say — who needs a Golden Globe as long as you have a Beaver?
