A dumb scene in an otherwise good movie is like a spot of mold on a block of cheese: Sure, you could probably just cut it out and be fine, but who wants it now? One dumb scene can ruin everything. Even in an overall pretty stupid movie, one scene can be the straw that breaks the remote’s back button.
