20 ‘True Story’ Movies That Were Full of Baloney

Hollywood loves a biopic, mostly because it means they don’t have to come up with a new idea. They just have to read a memoir, figure out which actor most closely resembles a much hotter version of them and pay a pittance for their life story, and it’s halfway to Oscarville. The only problem is that sometimes a person’s life just isn’t that interesting, or they’re actually a nightmare trash person, so Hollywood has to spice/nice it up.

“My pick would be P.T Barnum in The (Greatest) Showman,” Redditor NotASynth499 told r/Movies. “In the movie, he is a wholesome and tolerant guy who loves his freaks, while in real life, he was basically a slave driver.” They then asked for Redditors’ choices for the “most inaccurate biopic ever,” and their responses couldn’t have been any more accurate.
