Quinta Brunson Says Her Mom Is ‘Not Allowed to Watch’ ‘Abbot Elementary’s Crossover With ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’
Though Abbott Elementary may be all about a “work family,” the series’ showrunner and leading lady Quinta Brunson is apparently having second thoughts about allowing her real-life family to watch the show’s two upcoming crossover episodes with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
In what’s become yet another drip in the slowest leak known to man (or second, depending on how long it took Frank Reynolds to fill up that water bottle), Brunson hinted at what fans — including her mother — can expect during the beloved Pennsylvania-based series’ collab. “Yeah, my mom’s not going to be allowed to watch that,” she told People while attending the EMA Awards Gala on Sunday.
Although Brunson remained tight-lipped on what schemes, plots and/or scams she gets into with the overlords of Paddy’s Pub — ones her mother shall never witness if the actress/producer/BuzzFeed alum has her way — she’s far from the only actor to hint that the upcoming crossover gets, well, real weird with it.
“I think we get a little wild in the show for them, but they’re handling us pretty well,” Sunny’s Danny DeVito told People last week about working with the Abbott Elementary cast. “We had a great time. They’re wonderful people. It’s such an odd mix, so it’s going to be fun.”
But until this highly-hyped episode hits airwaves, the exact antics of these episodes are under strict lock and key — presumably behind a door marked “pirate.”
