20 Overlooked Horror Movies That Are Scarier Than the Blockbusters
It’s that time of year again, folks, when all the horror movie aficionados emerge blinking from their crimson caves, saunter down to the strip mall that used to house a Kmart and frolic among the fake weapons and honestly pretty decent makeup. The bubble bursts, however, as soon as someone suggests watching Scream, and an ennui sets in that’s only known to serial killers and pub quiz champions.
It’s not that Scream isn’t a great movie. In fact, that’s the problem — they’ve just seen it too many times. In fact, they’ve seen everything on Netflix & Chills and Huluween. That was Redditor CanApprehensive8720’s boyfriend’s problem, too. “My boyfriend has watched almost every single horror movie in existence,” they told r/Movies. “He’s an encyclopedia of every single horror (movie) he’s ever seen and has this, like, steel vault in his brain where it’s all stored.”
Nevertheless, “I wanna wow him,” they insisted. They then asked, “What’s your incredibly niche but terrifying watch?” and their fellow Redditors provided all kinds of jump scares and chills.
