Even the Muppets Didn’t Speak Up About What Went on at Diddy’s Parties

One of the most disturbing things about the charges against Sean “Diddy” Combs for assault and sex trafficking is the countless number of celebrities who were well aware of what was going on at his infamous parties but chose not to speak up. From Ashton Kutcher to Leonardo DiCaprio to the Kardashians, it’s clear that Diddy’s debauchery was an open secret among his fellow show-business One Percenters.

Still, there is one group in particular that’s remained silent that you’d expect far more from: The Muppets.

In the 2014 movie Muppets Most Wanted, Kermit is replaced by an evil doppelganger that allows all of the other Muppets to indulge their worst impulses. This is how, during one scene, the Muppets find themselves gambling on a train with Diddy, who asks Pepé the king prawn to blow on his dice. Pepé, of course, obliges, and then says, “Come on Diddy Daddy!”

While about a dozen muppets were seen partying with Diddy, Pepé is the one who is clearly the closest to him. Diddy even did an on-set interview where he referred to Pepé as “charismatic” and “kind of wild.” In hindsight, that compliment is obviously pretty damning.

In fairness, Pepé was only seen with Diddy in the one scene, and of all the police documents related to Diddy’s alleged crimes, none of them mention Pepé.

And so, perhaps Pepé truly was unaware of Diddy’s darker side, but until he comes out and addresses this publicly, we all should be asking ourselves, “What did Pepé know?”
