This clip from Awful Announcing pretty well sums up how Tom Brady’s debut as a Fox NFL analyst went, with the Hall of Fame quarterback awkwardly holding out a fist that rules analyst Mike Pereira refuses to bump. 

The Athletic summed up Brady’s first day on the job about as kindly as possible, calling him “a man learning the job in real time.” Brady was just okay, providing “perfectly fine commentary but nothing transformative that will educate a viewer on being a smarter football fan.”

Unfortunately for Brady, fans on Twitter/X weren’t nearly as diplomatic when describing his performance. Here’s how football fans at large responded to the GOAT’s first game behind the mic: 

The good news for Brady? If this broadcasting job doesn’t pan out, there’s likely a job waiting for him in Cleveland.
