The Funniest TikTok Videos That We’ll Miss When It’s Banned

TikTok may not be long for this world, which is why we need to move all the funny posts to Twitter.

On April 24th, President Joe Biden signed a bipartisan bill ordering the Chinese company ByteDance to divest from their most popular product, the video-sharing platform TikTok, or else the U.S. government will ban TikTok from the country. Days later, ByteDance sued the government, calling the ban unconstitutional and claiming it “subjects a single, named speech platform to a permanent, nationwide ban, and bars every American from participating in a unique online community with more than 1 billion people worldwide.” 

Both Democrat and Republican lawmakers have expressed their concerns over the app’s invasive privacy issues as well as its potential as a national security threat, but the legal battle to expel either Chinese influence over TikTok or the platform itself will likely draw on until the bill’s deadline in January 2025.

In the meantime, a Twitter thread asking users to post “the funniest tiktok video you’ve ever seen” dominated the site over the past week with thousands upon thousands of entries submitted by Twitter/TikTok users. 

So, while we wait for the lawyers and politicians to settle the fate of TikTok, let’s enjoy the all-time greatest comedy sketches and viral videos on the platform that’s harvesting our data for use by an American megalomaniac as opposed to a Chinese one…
