Lizzo Reacts to Her Worst Fear — Being a ‘South Park’ Punchline
It’s not a phone call most of us would ever want to get. “Hey, head’s up,” says the voice on the other end of the line. “You’re the punchline of the latest South Park joke.”
“My worst fear has been actualized,” Lizzo confessed in an Instagram video after she got a similar call. “I’ve been referenced in a South Park episode. I’m so scared. I’m gonna blind-duet to it right now.”
The real-time reaction could have gone a number of ways, depending on how the South Park jokes in The End of Obesity special landed. If you haven’t got around to watching, here’s the bit: Sharon Marsh complains that she can’t afford Ozempic and similar weight-loss drugs. Even worse, her health insurance won’t cover the hefty cost since she doesn’t have diabetes. But Sharon’s doctor has an alternative plan.
Don't Miss
“I’m going to write you a prescription for Lizzo,” says the doc. “She’s a really good singer who talks about body positivity and just being happy with the way you look. I want you to listen to Lizzo five times a day and watch her videos just before bedtime. I’m afraid you’ll have to be on Lizzo for the rest of your life.”
Cue the jingle! L-I-Z-Z-O spells the name of a new drug that controls all your cravings to be thinner by lowering your standards and your expectations. “Ask about the power of not giving a fuck with Lizzo.” Happy patients are loving the freedom. “I don’t give two shits!”
Self-acceptance is one thing, but the ad isn’t always complimentary to the “About Damn Time” singer. “Serious side effects” of Lizzo can include pancreatitis, hypothermia and “shitting out your ears.”
Lizzo’s reaction? “That’s crazy!”
Crazy in a good way. Lizzo released a full battery of eff-bombs to show Trey Parker and Matt Stone some love. “I just feel like, damn, I’m really that bitch. I’m really that bitch. I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a fuck to the point where these men in Colorado know who the fuck I am and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years,” she gushed. “I’m literally that bitch, and I showed you how to not give a fuck and I’m going to continue showing you how not to give a fuck.”
Any pharmaceutical companies out there thinking about putting out a Lizzo drug? Sounds like its namesake is ready to cut a track for the jingle.
“Oh, oh, oh, Lizzo!” she sang at the end of her Insta video. “Bitch.”
