21 Movies That Are Just Propaganda
Movies are pretty much always trying to sell us something, if only implicitly. Heteronormative romance, the sexual desirability of cars, the comedy stylings of Dane Cook, etc. Those are all varying degrees of fine or at least not politically or economically destabilizing (except Dane Cook, probably).
But sometimes movies are just clearly trying to indoctrinate you into a cult, whether religious, capitalistic, death or otherwise. From war movies that are little more than advertisements for the military to corporate-sponsored stories that are just advertisements, you’ve almost certainly found yourself watching a movie where you could feel your brain getting washed. At least, if the thousands of Redditors who responded when user fjeek asked r/AskReddit, “Which movies do you think are straight up propaganda?” are anything to go by.
