Bill Burr Puts Jimmy Kimmel on Blast for Making Trump A Martyr
Sometimes a guy shows up on Jimmy Kimmel Live to plug his role as an animated turtle in an Adam Sandler film but ends up talking about how liberals are “so (bleep)ing stupid.” At least that’s what happens when you’re comedian Bill Burr, who blames liberals generally — and ones like Kimmel specifically — for Donald Trump’s continued popularity.

Somehow, a conversation about Burr lying to his kids about Santa Claus and Elf on the Shelf turned into a discussion about narcissism. “You want to see a great case thing on narcissism?” Burr asked Kimmel. “Liberals are so (bleeping) stupid the way that they handle Trump.”
Don't Miss
Burr, recently in the news defending his wife after she gave Trump the double bird at a UFC fight, doesn’t have any patience for Trump defiance that occurs outside his immediate family. When Kimmel asked Burr to clarify what he meant with his ‘liberals’ remark, the comic fired back at the host. “You should shut up!” Without letting the host get a word in edgewise, Burr says the attention given to Trump by Kimmel and others is simply feeding the beast.
“I think he was a one-hit wonder,” Burr ranted. “He wrote ‘The Twist’ and then that was it. He was on the casino circuit and then you idiot liberals wrote him ‘Twist Again’ when you indicted him and now he's a martyr coming back. He’s coming back. It's going to be great for comedy!”
Burr then expressed his bipartisan disgust for America’s presidential options. “I can't believe (Biden and Trump) are honestly going to be our two choices,” Burr grumbled, unable to make a credible case for either ancient candidate. “I want somebody in their 40s,” he said, “somebody that's going to have to live with their decisions.”
The comic's best-case scenario for the front-running candidates before November 2024 rolls around? “With any luck, they'll both die of natural causes before the election,” he says. “Maybe you could get somebody that still has something to live for.”
Burr might not get a stopover from Santa this year, countered Kimmel, but “you are going to get a visit from the Secret Service.”
