Amy Sedaris Says Six-Year-Old Girls on Halloween Are ‘Little Karens’
Amy Sedaris’ line of work is, perhaps, the only industry wherein the line “I want to speak to your manager” leads to job offers instead of Twitter freak-outs.
Like anyone with holiday spirit and access to prosthetics, the Strangers with Candy and BoJack Horseman star is a big fan of Halloween and fully commits to the festivities each year by dressing up as a witch and scaring the absolute crap out of kids in suburban New Jersey. The godmother of her former partner co-star Paul Dinello’s two kids, Sedaris spends each Halloween at her godfamily’s home, where she sits in a rocking chair and jump-scares passing trick-or-treaters with her unsurprisingly solid witch’s cackle.

However, much like a barbecue in the park or a quiet evening at Olive Garden, Sedaris’ yearly tradition was spoiled last Halloween by the holiday’s most boring monsters — the Karens. During her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday night, Sedaris said that, when Halloween comes around, the Karens get significantly shorter.
“I don’t know what it is, I just can’t click with that age group,” said Sedaris about the short-haired, sunglasses-wearing six-year-olds who try to spoil her sacrilegious celebrations, which is surprising. After all, Sedaris is the epitome of a Stranger with Candy.
