Debate season has officially kicked into high gear. The first one saw eight Republican presidential candidates take the stage in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. The White House hopefuls started off the proceedings not by tackling real issues that affect Americans, like health care, but instead by reflecting on the unlikely song at the top of the Billboard Hot 100: Oliver Anthony’s hit “Rich Men North of Richmond.”
Speaking of health care, one comedian is very lucky to have good insurance. Kevin Hart has found himself wheelchair-bound for the most insane reason imaginable. The 44-year-old challenged ex-NFL running back Stevan Ridley in a 40-yard dash, and tore his lower abdomen and abductor in the process. Hart is undoubtedly physically fit, as evident by his ongoing partnership with activewear brand Fabletics, but surely he could not have thought he was more fit than a professional athlete?
In fairness, Hart does call himself the “dumbest man alive” in a video he posted to Instagram detailing the incident and urging his followers to take the age of 40 very seriously. Thankfully, he’ll now have some down time to sit and reflect on his choices.
While Hart laughs at himself, there’s a whole new round of tweets on the timeline for us to laugh at, including a surprising guest on Pee-wee’s Playhouse, High School Musical’s false advertising and an unintentional Sex and the City and Family Guy crossover that has resurfaced.
