‘South Park’ Superfan Ed Sheeran Scores ‘Invite Only’ Access to Casa Bonita
Gingers may not have souls, but at Casa Bonita, they can have tacos.
Smash hit singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran once joked that the iconic 2005 South Park episode “Ginger Kids,” which flamed the freckled, red-haired, pale-skinned daywalkers of the world and started the rumor that gingers don’t have souls, “f–king ruined my life.” Said Sheeran, “Having red hair in England was always a thing that people took the piss out of you for, but it was never something in America. … And then I remember that episode coming out and that was just it worldwide for the rest of my life.”
Don't Miss
Well, even people without souls still have stomachs, and over the weekend, Sheeran stopped by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s massive Colorado area dining and entertainment superplex Casa Bonita for an “invite-only” event where he buried the hatchet over a cliff-diver show and a plate of sopapillas.
Though South Park has not yet satirized Sheeran directly, it’s always heartwarming when an A-list celebrity takes a South Park joke in stride and embraces the power of parody. Not everyone can laugh at themselves; however, anyone can appreciate a plate of deliciously refried beans and a puppet show. Maybe Tom Cruise and Barbra Streisand wouldn’t hate their South Park episodes so much if they weren’t so hungry.
