The Sound of Silence: Paul Simon, Beyonce and Springsteen Never Gave in to Doing Carpool Karaoke
It’s James Corden’s last week. That sentence alone is music to our ears.
The Late Late Show host’s murderer’s row of celebrity send-offs has seen the likes of Adele, Will Ferrell and the entire Kardashian family all paying respect to Hollywood publicists’ favorite late-night personality. However, there are a handful of names from the “Carpool Karaoke” creator’s wishlist of A-list tributes that are conspicuously missing from the last week lineup. Ahead of tonight's finale, two of Corden’s producers spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and revealed a couple of the “bucket list” guests who they could never book – Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen were both targets for “Carpool Karaoke” segments, but Queen Bey and The Boss preferred to commute in peace.
Don't Miss
Yesterday, Corden himself told Howard Stern that his ultimate dream guest for “Carpool Karaoke” has always been Paul Simon, but the “Graceland” songbird never answered his calls, even during the farewell tour. Regardless of Simon’s feelings towards Corden, the 5’3” superstar’s decision seems prudent – he’d look pretty silly singing “You Can Call Me Al” in a booster seat.
