Is Patrick Mahomes Football’s Kenny Powers?
Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes has a mind for victory and an arm like a f—ing cannon — and the voice of Kenny Powers.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! just one day after his nail-biting victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, bringing with him the MVP trophy and stories from the celebration that followed the big win. While Mahomes was regaling Kimmel with the details of the champions’ party, one Twitter user noticed some striking similarities between Mahomes and another party-loving, mullet-sporting sports legend.
Mahomes’ unique voice has been compared to a lot of things — usually to that of Kermit the Frog — but the combination of the curly mullet, the facial hair and the way he describes a party invokes Shelby, North Carolina’s most fiery, flame-throwing pitcher more than anything else. While Mahomes has certainly maintained a more, um, “family friendly” public persona than Powers, we wonder what his thoughts are on triathlons or or the sport the rest of the world calls “football.”
Don't Miss
There’d better be jet skis at the victory parade, a couple thousand kegs of Coors Light and that sack of shit Stevie, of course.
