Paul Rudd Does a Side-by-Side with the Late-Night Writer Who Lizzo Thought Was Him
In all fairness to Lizzo, most dark-haired, well-groomed white guys probably look a little like Paul Rudd when they’re wearing a facemask.
When Lizzo joined Late Night host Seth Meyers for his segment “Seth and Lizzo Go Day Drinking” back in December, the internet was abuzz over Lizzo’s mistaking of one of Meyers’ writers for the Ant-Man star and perpetually ageless comedy legend Rudd. Lizzo’s joy over what she thought was a surprise appearance from an A-list actor was tragically struck down when “Paul Rudd” was revealed to be Late Night writer Seth Reiss, who, interestingly, co-wrote the script for The Menu.
Don't Miss
Last night, the real Rudd appeared on Late Night to do a side-by-side comparison with Reiss, and honestly, if both men were wearing masks and we had about a dozen shots in our system, we wouldn’t be able to tell them apart either.
As Rudd and Meyers individually acknowledged, the top thirds of both men’s faces are shockingly similar — dark, wavy hair, warm eyes, a frustrating lack of forehead lines — but the mask-off moment shatters the twinning moment as spectacularly on Late Night as it did when the inebriated Lizzo and Meyers literally fell out of their seats laughing during the original segment. “It’s like looking in a mirror!” Rudd sarcastically quipped.
For a full-face lookalike, you’ll have to watch this shocking video of Rudd meeting his true doppelganger.
