Marjorie Taylor Greene Apparently Doesn't Know That June Has 30 Days
Over the course of the past several years, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has become an extremely controversial figure in the American zeitgeist, often condemned for her highly questionable politics, glowing endorsement of baseless conspiracy theories, and her bizarre comparisons between Covid-19 public safety protocols and the treatment of Jewish people during the Holocaust. Despite this terrible reputation, Greene is actually so, so much more than an AOC-chasing, conspiracy touting, QAnoner – yes, reader, contrary to the popular opinions of millions of Americans, Greene is actually an AOC-chasing, conspiracy touting, QAnoner who apparently, cannot read a f&@^$^@ calendar.
Last week, the Congresswoman took to Twitter with a letter for President Joe Biden, calling for an investigation into the possibility that Covid-19 could have originated from a lab, a theory that has recently been discussed in several news outlets, including The Wall Street Journal and CNN. “The American people deserve answers on the Wuhan lab & Fauci deserves to be held accountable!” she wrote in a post on Friday. Despite these hefty demands, it seems the time frame Greene had in mind for the Biden administration to reply isn't exactly realistic. In her letter, the lawmaker insisted on receiving a response from the President by June 31, 2021. Yes, you read that correctly. June 31, 2021.
Now, folks, as anyone who has passed the first grade can tell you, June only has 30 days, meaning that Greene's request is literally impossible. While, as Forbes noted, President Biden could possibly add another day to June to accommodate Greene's request, inadvertently lengthening both pride month and hot girl summer, the chances of him doing so, or responding at all, are relatively slim due to the letter's pretty inflammatory nature.
Don't Miss
While some reports have discussed the potential origins of the virus, Greene's letter is steeped in bold assertions, loaded questions, and racism. Aside from referring to Covid-19 as the “China virus,” a racist term that according to one study, sparked an increase in anti-Asian sentiment after former President Trump used the language in a tweet, Greene also explicitly stated that “novel Coronavirus, a manufactured plague created at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and released on the world in November 2019" without providing a single drop of evidence to back up her claims. The letter also placed a significant amount of blame on Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and featured several strangely-worded questions, including “is there evidence that Covid-19 is a bioweapon?"
So folks, to paraphrase the old adage, "Thirty days hath September, April, June and November. All the rest have thirty-one, Excepting February alone, And that has twenty-eight days clear. And twenty-nine in each leap year. Also if your MTG, June has 31, I fear.
