Update: 'Tiger King' Star Joe Exotic Peeved He Didn't Get A Presidential Pardon, Carole Baskin Thrilled
Well, folks, it seems the flatbed pickup truck/limousine waiting near Joe Exotic's Texas prison to whisk him to his hairstylist in hopes of a presidential pardon may have been all for nothing -- the Tiger King star, unlike Steve Bannon, Lil Wayne, and Kodak Black was not among the 143 people granted clemency during the last hours of now ex-President Donald Trump's White House tenure, Complex reported.
"We are as disappointed that the President did not sign Joe's pardon, as we were confident yesterday that he would," a representative from Exotic's team told TMZ of the snub. The sequin-loving reality star is currently serving a 22-year sentence for hiring a hitman to murder arch-nemisis, Carole Baskin and for eight violations of The Lacey Act, which "enforces civil and criminal penalties for the illegal trade of animals and plant," according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.
Don't Miss
Despite Team Tiger's once high confidence in a pardon from 45, even chartering a very, um, exotic ride to escort the Netflix celeb off prison premises, it seems Exotic himself is likely also bummed about the decision.
"I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump," reads a recent post from a regularly-updated, though unverified Instagram account that may belong to Exotic. "I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post. Boy were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice? His corrupt friends all come first." Ouch.
However, not everyone is upset about Exotic's presidential snub, namely Big Cat Rescue founder and 2020's official flower crown spokeswoman Carole Baskin. "If I understand the notice I got from the prison system, he's already gotten another month added to his sentence by not obeying prison rules." Baskin told the publication of her tiger taming foe. "If Joe really had a change of heart, he could do what Mario Tabraue did to lessen his 100 year drug trafficking conviction to 12 years by turning state's evidence against the other animal exploiters."
Whether you're a fan of Exotic or side with Baskin, it seems his team -- to paraphrase the often mispronounced T.I. song, now wants Joe Biden, Needs Joe Biden ... to get him out of the slammer. Happy post-inauguration day, folks!
