Shocking! 'Bachelorette' Couple Who Got Engaged after Two Weeks of Dating Splits
In a shocking piece of breakup news that absolutely nobody could have ever possibly seen coming, Bachelorette Clare Crawley and her fiancee, former football player and Party City model Dale Moss, who had been dating for an entire two weeks before getting engaged on the ABC reality show last year, have split.
Now, reader, I know it may be hard to process this absolutely shocking, not at all predictable news -- "How could this happen! They had such a long, rich history together! He was her (and everyone else who shopped at Party City's) Superman!" Well sometimes breaking up is the healthiest course of action for a couple on the rocks, a sentiment Moss mirrored when confirming their separation on social media.
"I wanted share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time," the Party City model wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post, immortalized by Bachelor fans on Twitter. "We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself, something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another."
Last November, the pair made headlines after Crawley ended her season just four episodes to get engaged to Moss, in a move that shocked -- and arguably relieved Bachelor nation. Throughout the course of her short stint on her own season, several fans began dubbing Crawley as "the worst bachelorette of all time," citing several factors including her neglectful behavior towards the other non-Dale men in the house, pressuring her suitors to strip down in a challenge, and allegedly playing the victim.
Even in their exit interview with host Chris Harrison, fans began to question the depth of their engagement bliss, noting how Moss appeared uncomfortable when Crawley blurted out that "babies" were next on the couple's agenda despite still planning their nuptials. Yikes.
So far, Crowley has remained silent on the matter -- it seems she's just not ready to taco-bout her split from Moss. And who can blame her, breakups suck enough as it is -- and likely only grow harder when publicized to the whole world. Clare, if you're reading this, all jokes aside, treat yourself to a big glass of wine, a bubble bath, and a chick flick tonight -- this applies to you, too, Dale.
So folks, let's allow Crawley and Moss's souring relationship to serve as a cautionary tale -- maybe get to know your partner for more than just two weeks on a reality television show before getting engaged. Just a thought. And remember, only "ironically" watch The Bachelor franchise at your own risk. You can and will get hooked -- Trust me.
