Elliot Page Thanks His Fans For Their 'Love and Support' After Coming Out as Transgender Earlier This Month
Rejoice, fans of The Umbrella Academy! Elliot Page is back -- and this time, bearing a special message of holiday gratitude for his fans. On Sunday, the beloved actor and LGBTQAI+ icon triumphantly returned to social media, sharing his first post after coming out as a transgender man earlier this month.
"From the bottom of my heart, thank you," he wrote, alongside a hoodie-clad selfie. "Your love and support has been the greatest gift. Stay safe. Be there for each other." The star also urged followers to support organizations serving the trans community this holiday season, including Trans Lifeline, a crisis hotline for transgender people, and TranSanta. Spearheaded by Pose's Indya Moore, the initiative strives to provide transgender children, teens, and young adults with Christmas presents, allowing users to anonymously gift items to young people in need. Philanthropy aside, the actor also confirmed he'd be returning to the public eye soon -- assuring fans he'll "see you in 2021."
Don't Miss
The holiday post comes after Page came out as transgender in a heartfelt letter posted to his social media pages earlier this month."Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they, and my name is Elliot," the actor wrote on December 1. "I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived in this place in my life." The post quickly went viral, with fans and celebs including Miley Cyrus, Kate Mara, and Julianne Moore sharing their congratulations and well-wishes for the esteemed actor.
Similarly, other famous faces, like Janelle Monae and James Gunn, shared their support on the actor's latest post. "Major, huge love to you, Elliot," wrote Page's Juno costar, Jennifer Garner earlier this week. "Miss you. Hug me. Love you. Cuddle me," commented TV host, Ian Daniel.
So Elliot, it's great to have you back. Keep on being you!
