Tom Cruise Allegedly Roasts 'Mission Impossible 7' Crew Member for Breaking Health Protocols
On today's episode of celebrity "diva moments" that are actually pretty damn rational, Tom Cruise reportedly went on expletive-ridden rant at Mission: Impossible 7 crew members who allegedly broke the set's Covid-19 social distancing protocols.
"I don't ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don't do it you're fired, if I see you do it again you're fucking gone," the star allegedly said after seeing two crew members standing closer than six feet apart. "And if anyone in this crew does it -- that's it, and you too and you too."
The clip, which U.K tabloid, The Sun published on Wednesday, has since been confirmed as authentic by both The New York Times and Vanity Fair, citing an anonymous source close with the production, according to NBC.
Don't Miss
I would normally add a one-word commentary here, like "ouch" or "oof," but considering the dangers of Covid-19, I can't say I entirely blame the guy. The coronavirus pandemic has seriously harmed the film industry halting productions around the globe and leaving "tens of thousands" of workers in the entertainment industry without work, in what Variety is calling "Hollywood's Great Depression," a context Cruise seems to acknowledge.
"You can tell it to the people who are losing their fucking homes because our industry is shut down. It's not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education," the actor said. "That's what I sleep with every night -- the future of this fucking industry!"
The film itself has also been impacted by pandemic-related troubles. Back in February, a three-week shoot in Venice, Italy was postponed due to the virus, according to CNN. Eight months later, 12 crew members allegedly tested positive for the virus, after which the actor reportedly dropped $676,000 to fund a ship where the film's cast and crew can isolate -- talk about CRUISE control.
"We want the gold standard," Cruise reportedly said in the clip. "They're back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we're doing."
So reader, let this be a warning. Keep your damn distance from others, lest you face the wrath of an angry Scientologist.
