Trump Is Now Encouraging Supporters To Test Voter Fraud By Voting Twice
Donald Trump has long been a champion, protecting us against voter fraud. He has warned us against the dangers of mail-in ballots, despite them being exactly the same as absentee ballots, which he is fine with. He has illuminated us to the millions of illegal votes in California during the 2016 election. (A claim still without any evidence, but we'll find it eventually!) He has nobly enlisted sheriffs to become poll watchers on election day to keep out the trillions of non-Americans who might invade our country and show up at your local rec center to cast a vote. This has been said and done despite the rate of voter fraud being at .0000044%, but that's okay because no number is too small to ensure a fair and safe Democracy, right?
So imagine how surprised we are to find that our glorious leader is now actively encouraging his supporters to vote twice. Is Donald Trump a proponent of voter fraud? No, he's just asking supporters to test the effectiveness of mail-in ballots. Said Trump in an interview with North Carolina news station WECT:
"They will vote, and then they are going to have to check their vote by going to the poll and voting that way because if it tabulates, then they won't be able to do that. So, let them send it in, and let them go vote. And if the system is as good as they say it is, then they obviously won't be able to vote. If it isn't tabulated, they will be able to vote. So that's the way it is, and that's what they should do."
Don't Miss
And here he is tweeting about it in courageous, triumphant CAPS -- the only writing style befitting a leader with such bravery and strength:
Now, you might not be aware of this, but voting twice is actually illegal in America. In North Carolina, where Trump initially shared this message, it is a Class I felony offense. You would think Trump would know this. For one, he knows everything, but two, this has kind of been the thing he's been railing against for the past four years. You could forgive him, though, as William Barr seems to be just as unaware.
Whoopsie. I guess Donald Trump might possibly be trying to do a teensy weensy bit of cheating to win an upcoming election? Eeek, you hate when that happens. It's like when you think you're turning on the light, but you've accidentally flicked the switch for the garbage disposal and have just shredded all of our democratic norms into a million pieces. Oh well. We're sure he won't do it again.
