Dr. Dre is very proud of his daughter, whom he named Truly Young (in the presumed hope that she'd grow up to be a tub of anti-wrinkle face cream). Unlike some other shameless celebrities, who were recently caught up in a scandal for bribing their kids into esteemed colleges, his daughter actually earned her way into the University of Southern California. Dre was so proud of Truly making it in on her own merits that he posted a (now-deleted) picture of the two of them on Instagram with the caption "My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!"
According to Dre, no shady back channels or greased palms were necessary to get his kid into a prestigious university. Good for them! That said, please ignore the fact that he and legendary music producer Jimmy Iovine donated $70 million to USC -- money that helped create an entire undergraduate program named after them (which will be taught in a building that will also be named after them). There's even footage of him at a groundbreaking ceremony for the building that will bear his name, at the college his daughter earned her way into, because of, uh, good grades and shit. Isn't higher education in America inspiring?
