13 TV Comedies That Probably Shouldn’t Have Been Made into Movies

The special alchemy that goes into movie is different from the nose-to-the-grindstone nature of TV shows. Movies require lengthier scripts, multiple shooting locations, and often bigger budgets. TV shows, on the other hand, require cast and crew to almost work a 9-to-5, going in every day to bang their head against the wall and slip on bananas for weekly entertainment of the half-asleep Thursday night masses.

So we can understand the appeal of crossing mediums. It's a finite job, and movies carry the weight of a sort of capstone achievement. We're sure sooomebody at the The Officer proposed the idea of releasing the Dunder Mifflin documentary as a big-budget blockbuster and tried to turn a bunch of characters watching clips of themselves into an event. Thankfully, we didn't get that. Instead, we got these massive missed opportunities like Bewitched and Flintstones.
